Sped teacher

Mrs. Renetta A. Perkins

At D. McRae Elementary School, I have been an inclusion/resource teacher for eight years. As a special education teacher, it's critical to establish a safe environment for ALL students while also adapting to their individual learning preferences (visual, aural, kinesthetic, or tactile) to promote students' self-confidence regardless of their academic or cognitive abilities. My home city is New Orleans, or as some would say, "Nawlins." After Hurricane Katrina, in August 2005, I moved to Texas. I've been married for nine years, and I have two girl chorkies’ named Chay and Chyii.
Speech-Language Pathologist

Mrs. Kathryn Yarbrough

This is my 7th year working in education, but my 19th year as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP). I have a bachelor's degree in Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology from the University of Southern Mississippi and a master's degree in Communicative Disorders from the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss). I love being a pediatric SLP because there is no greater reward than helping my students improve their communication skills, thus improving their overall quality of life; I also enjoy the flexibility that my career provides.

Mrs. Williams dyslexia teacher

Mrs. DeVona Williams

I am excited to be a D. McRae "Tiger" teaching what I love.... reading! I have been in education for over 20 years as a classroom teacher, school librarian, and now a Dyslexia Interventionist. I want EVERYONE to love reading as much as I do! When I am not reading or at D. McRae, I love spending time with my husband Ty and my kitty Ranji. My favorite things to do are ocean cruises, anything with sewing and crafting, or a quiet movie night at home.
